Additional information

The "Year of the Tiger" bullion series sits within Perth Mint's long-running Chinese Lunar calendar program, which the mint launched in 1996 partly to capture demand from Southeast Asian investment markets where zodiac-themed gold carries a premium beyond spot. The Tiger year falls every twelve years; 2022 was also the Year of the Water Tiger specifically, a combination that recurs only once every sixty years under the traditional sexagenary cycle.

Perth's sixth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was adopted by the mint in 2019 and appeared on Australian bullion coinage through the end of the reign.
