At fifty dollars, this sits at the top of regular Bahamian circulation, making it the note most likely to encounter substitution fraud; the single watermark security feature is notably modest for a high-value issue of its period, well behind contemporaries from comparable Caribbean jurisdictions. De La Rue's involvement in Bahamian currency printing dates to independence in 1973 and remained uninterrupted through this series.
