Hatshepsut ruled Egypt for roughly twenty years during the Eighteenth Dynasty, yet her successor Thutmose III systematically erased her image and cartouches from monuments — a disfigurement campaign so thorough that Egyptologists didn't conclusively identify her as a female pharaoh until the nineteenth century. Fiji's involvement is purely fiduciary: the island nation has issued hundreds of collector coins under Reserve Bank authority bearing no connection to Fijian history, a legal arrangement common among small sovereigns licensing their currency for the bullion and numismatic market.
