| Beschrijving keerzijde | A highly detailed, finely engraved depiction of a rabbit facing left in the central field, rendered in high relief with naturalistic fur texture. A decorative vase and leafy foliage are positioned to the left of the rabbit, adding a traditional Chinese artistic motif to the composition. The Chinese character '兔' (Rabbit) is inscribed prominently in the upper field above the central device. The curved legend 'Year of the Rabbit' arcs along the lower portion of the field in italic script, enclosed within a double raised border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Australia's lunar bullion series was relaunched by the Perth Mint in 1999 after an initial run through the Royal Australian Mint, and the second series — to which this 2011 Rabbit belongs — runs on a strict twelve-year cycle with each design retired permanently at year's end. Annual mintage caps and that hard retirement policy are what drive secondary-market premiums well above melt on older dates in the series.
The Rabbit is the fourth animal in the second lunar cycle from Perth, and 2011 issues across all denominations were struck to .9999 fineness rather than the .999 standard used by many competing sovereign programs — a deliberate commercial distinction Perth has maintained since reformulating its bullion specification in the 1990s.
