Reverse description The reverse presents a stylised depiction of two Brolgas (Antigone rubicunda), Australia's iconic native crane, rendered in an artistic style incorporating traditional Aboriginal dot-work patterns in green and brown hues applied by pad printing. The birds are shown in a dynamic, elongated composition occupying the majority of the field. The legend 'DISCOVER AUSTRALIA' arcs along the upper rim, while the inscriptions '2009 BROLGA 1/2 OZ 9995 PLATINUM' appear along the lower portion of the field. The Perth Mint 'P' mintmark is visible to the right of the design, and the reverse is attributed to engraver Darryl Bellotti.
