Beschrijving voorzijde The central device depicts the official State Seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, featuring a traditional Marshallese stick chart navigation device at center, flanked by symbolic imagery including a frigate bird, a sun, palm trees, and a sailing canoe, all rendered in high relief. The seal is enclosed within a beaded border. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination $50 and the date 1998 appear in the left and right fields respectively. The national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN curves along the lower periphery, and the word SEAL appears on a tablet at the base of the central device.

Aanvullende informatie

The Marshall Islands' commemorative program of the 1990s was prolific to the point of absurdity — the atoll nation issued dozens of collector pieces annually, most with no domestic circulation whatsoever, functioning purely as a revenue mechanism sold through international dealers. This Christmas issue is exactly that: a bullion-weight silver piece produced for the gift and novelty collector market rather than for any monetary or historical purpose.

KM#483 is one of several holiday-themed pieces struck that year under the same program.
