Reversbeschreibung Highly detailed depiction of the ancient Statue of Zeus at Olympia, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, rendered in high relief. The enthroned Zeus is shown seated frontally within the interior of the Temple of Zeus, draped in robes, holding a sceptre topped with an eagle in his right hand and a Nike figurine in his left, flanked by tall Doric columns and seated lion sculptures on elevated plinths. Laurel garlands, ornamental vessels, and a meander-patterned floor complete the architectural setting, with the engraver's initials JP visible to the right. The inscription STATUE OF ZEUS appears in the lower exergue, with a circular 7 WONDERS logo medallion at centre below the throne, and the date 2025 at the top of the field.

Zusätzliche Informationen

The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, survived intact into late antiquity before disappearing — probably destroyed by fire either at Olympia in the 5th century AD or after being transported to Constantinople. No complete visual record survives from antiquity, leaving all modern reconstructions dependent on descriptions by Pausanias and representations on Elean coinage struck roughly 600 years after Pheidias completed the original chryselephantine sculpture around 435 BC.

Solomon Islands has issued high-karat gold multiples under Charles III's name as a continuation of its long-running commemorative bullion program, which generates revenue well beyond what domestic circulation could support for an economy of its size.
