| 表面の説明 | The coin assumes the form of a patented Crossworks Manufacturing heart-cut diamond, its entire surface articulated as a multi-faceted relief replicating the geometry of a 0.23 ct. Ideal Cut Heart Diamond graded by the De Beers Institute of Diamonds, with that same diamond embedded into one of the crown's main facets. The largest and uppermost facet—the table—bears the right-facing effigy of King Charles III rendered in fine detail. Surrounding the effigy on the table facet are the legend CANADA, the date 2025, the royal inscription CHARLES III D·G·REX, and the denomination 50 DOLLARS, all in incuse Latin lettering. The remaining facets radiate outward from the culet in a symmetrical star pattern, their polished planes creating strong contrasts of light and shadow characteristic of a brilliant-cut stone. The engraver's initials SR appear discreetly within the design. |

The "Ideal Cut" designation here isn't marketing — it's a specific grading standard requiring precise angular proportions to maximize light return through the table facet, originally codified by Marcel Tolkowsky in his 1919 treatise Diamond Design. Setting a stone to that standard inside a struck silver coin requires the bezel to be fabricated separately and press-fitted after striking, since no die process tolerates a loose diamond.
At 0.23 carats, the stone sits just above the threshold Canadian customs classify as a gemstone import rather than a raw material — a distinction that affects the coin's duty and valuation category.
