| Obverse description | The obverse bears the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Palau rendered in high relief against a darkened, obsidian-black field scattered with fine glitter particles evoking a star-filled night sky. The shield device, inscribed RAINBOW'S END in the lower portion, depicts the traditional Palauan motifs of a mermaid and a god of the sea, framed by an ornate wreath. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by small stars, while a traditional outrigger canoe appears above the shield. The denomination 50 $ is inscribed below the coat of arms, and the series inscription HUNTERS BY NIGHT appears in large block letters across the lower field, partially overlaid by stylized rocky outcroppings at either side. |
