| Obverse description | The upper portion of the note carries the heading 'HONG KONG BRANCH' within a decorative border, centred above a royal coat of arms vignette inscribed 'INCORPORATED BY ROYAL CHARTER', flanked at left and right by oval guilloche medallions each bearing the denomination numeral '50'.
