Issued to mark the September 2019 mission of Hazza Al Mansouri aboard Soyuz MS-15 to the International Space Station, making him the first Emirati — and first Arab astronaut in over three decades — to reach the ISS. The mission lasted eight days and was the product of a 2017 agreement between the UAE and Russia's Roscosmos, with Al Mansouri selected from over 4,000 applicants in a national recruitment drive launched just two years prior.
