Aanvullende informatie

The Manual Digest of 1748, compiled by Antoni Fiter i Rossell, was the first systematic codification of Andorran customary law — a body of rules that had governed the co-principality informally for centuries under its unusual dual-suzerainty arrangement between the Bishop of Urgell and the French head of state. Rossell's work gave Andorra something approaching a constitutional foundation at a time when most small European territories were being absorbed or reorganized by larger powers.

This coin was issued the same year Andorra adopted its first formal constitution — 1993 — was still recent enough to make the legal heritage theme pointed rather than incidental.
