The circumferential legend, separated from the inner field by a border of arrow-like serrations, reads JOAN D.M. The cauldron bears gilt applied color depicting flames rising from its bowl, and the pedestal is inscribed with the date 1996. A colonnaded classical arcade occupies the background. The Roman numeral XXVII appears vertically along the left field, and the legend JOCS OLIMPICS arcs along the upper border. The denomination 50 D. is inscribed in the lower exergue, separated from the central design by a serrated border. |
