Reverse description A gilt cartographic depiction of Kuwait rendered in high relief occupies the central field, set against a deep red enamel background. The map is overlaid with fine Arabic calligraphic text filling its entire surface. Surrounding the central motif is an ornate border of interlaced foliate and arabesqueinspired scrollwork, itself encircled by a raised legend band. The bilingual legend, in both English and Arabic, identifies the issuing authority above and below, separated by decorative scrolls. The outer rim carries a repeating acanthus-leaf decorative border consistent with the gilt finish of the entire reverse.

Additional information

Kuwait's 2011 commemorative program marked the 50th anniversary of the constitution and the 20th anniversary of liberation from Iraqi occupation — two events the Kuwaiti government had strong political reasons to celebrate simultaneously. The gilt finish on this issue was applied selectively, a production choice that distinguishes it from the plain silver variant struck in the same program.

At 155.517 grams, the specification matches the five-troy-ounce standard favored by several Gulf state central banks for flagship commemoratives during this period.
