Additional information

Jordan's Five Year Development Plan (1976–1980) was launched under Hussein as a structured push toward economic modernization, heavily backed by Gulf state aid following the 1973 oil embargo windfall. Pattern pieces like this were produced to test proposed denominations or compositions before any commitment to full production runs — this copper example almost certainly represents a composition trial, as the circulating 50-dinar issues of the period were not struck in copper.

The Schön 30b designation distinguishes it from related patterns in the sequence. Whether this piece ever left the mint in any quantity beyond a handful of specimens is unknown.
