(Translation: Abdullah II bin Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan 50 Dinars The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan)
Beschrijving keerzijde The Jordanian royal crown is depicted above a large stylized Arabic letter 'ع' (Ayn), the first letter of King Abdullah's name, which dominates the central field. Within the body of the letter, the numeral '50' is rendered in Arabic-Indic script, referencing the king's 50th birthday. A circular Arabic legend surrounds the design along the upper periphery, with the year dates given in both Hijri (١٤٣٣ هـ) and Gregorian (٢٠١٢ م) calendars. The English inscription 'H.M. KING ABDULLAH II 50TH BIRTHDAY' appears along the lower border in Latin characters.

Aanvullende informatie

Jordan issued this piece to mark Abdullah II's 50th birthday in 2012 — the king having been born on 30 January 1962. The .916 fine gold specification places it squarely in the 22-karat crown gold tradition historically associated with British sovereign coinage, a standard Jordan has used for several of its commemorative bullion issues rather than the .999 fine format more common among modern state mints.

KM#91 sees relatively limited secondary market turnover. Most examples appear to have passed directly into private collections or diplomatic gift channels at issue.
