| Obverse description | The State emblem of Kuwait occupies the central field, depicting the shield bearing the national flag design superimposed upon a Hawk of Quraish (falcon) with wings displayed, the falcon supporting a disk enclosing a traditional boom dhow sailing vessel. Surrounding the central emblem is a commemorative occasion logo incorporating an oil pump jack and two oil tankers at sea. The upper legend in Arabic reads the full official name of the State of Kuwait, while bilingual inscriptions in Arabic and Latin script record the commemorative dates 30 June 1946–1996.
