Obverse description The Tunisian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a Phoenician galley at chief, scales of justice and a rampant lion in the quarters, surmounted by a crescent and five-pointed star enclosed in a circle. The Arabic legend of the republic name arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '50 دينارا' is inscribed in the lower field. Decorative arabesque ornaments flank the shield on either side, enhancing the overall design.
