Obverse description The right half of the obverse carries an intaglio-engraved oval portrait vignette of Prussian banker and politician David Hansemann set within an ornate scrollwork frame, with his name inscribed below the bust. The centre field bears large Fraktur lettering reading 'Fünfzig Reichsmark' over a complex guilloche rosette incorporating the numeral 50, with the issuing authority text and date rendered in Kurrent script below. A blue-grey adhesive control stamp bearing '50 - 1948' within a fine-line guilloche border is affixed to the left portion of the note, with the serial number printed in red at upper left and lower right.
