| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Hilderic facing right, rendered in a late antique style derived from Roman imperial portraiture. The king wears a diadem with pendilia, and the bust is shown with a cuirass or paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The circular Latin legend D N HILDI RIX REX runs around the bust, with the value mark L (denoting 50 denarii) visible in the right field. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, characteristic of Vandal hammered silver coinage of this period. |

| Obverse lettering | D N HILDI RIX REX (Translation: Our Lord, Hilderic, King.) |
| Reverse description | A frontal figure of Carthage personified (Dea Kartago) stands at center, depicted in the manner of a cult statue with arms outstretched and holding wheat ears or branches in each hand, wearing a turreted crown. The figure is rendered in a schematic, stylized manner typical of late Vandal silver coinage. The Latin legend FELIX KARTG is divided across the field, reading to the left and right of the central figure. The overall composition recalls late Roman provincial reverse types celebrating the prosperity of the city of Carthage. |
