Opmerkingen

Macedonia's polymer 50 Denari was issued as part of a broader push to modernize the lower-denomination notes, which had previously been printed on paper and suffered disproportionate wear given their everyday use. The shift to polymer for the 50 Denari specifically made practical sense — low-value notes circulate harder and longer than higher denominations before replacement.

Thomas De La Rue's involvement is unsurprising given their extensive contracts across Southeast Europe during this period. The transparent window is integral to the substrate rather than an applied feature, which is the standard De La Rue polymer construction.
