Popis líce	Central design features the Nicaraguan national arms motif rendered as a equilateral triangle enclosing five volcanic peaks rising above the sea, with a radiant sun and rainbow arc above, all set within a polished field. The weight indicator '0.5g' appears to the left of the triangle and the fineness mark 'Au 999.9' to the right. The circular legend 'REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA' arcs across the upper field and 'AMÉRICA CENTRAL' across the lower field, both separated by dot stops. The denomination '50 CÓRDOBAS' is inscribed below the central device. The entire design is bordered by a continuous ring of raised beads.

Popis rubu	The reverse presents a detailed bust portrait of Ferdinand Magellan facing slightly right, depicted wearing a broad-brimmed hat and a fur-trimmed cloak. The legend 'FERDINAND MAGELLAN' arcs across the upper field, with the death year '†1521' inscribed to the left of the portrait in the field. The issue year '2021' is engraved in the exergue below, commemorating the 500th anniversary of Magellan's death.
