| Obverse description | Central oval vignette with an intaglio portrait of Sun Yat-sen on a fine guilloche underprint, flanked on each side by large ornamental rosettes and intricate lathe-work border panels. The bank name 廣東省銀行 is inscribed in Chinese characters along the top, with the denomination 伍角 repeated to the left and right of the portrait, and the legend 大洋票 appearing vertically on both lateral margins. The date 中華民國三十八年 is printed in Chinese along the lower right, with series prefix letters and a red serial number above the portrait. |

| Reverse description | Central architectural vignette of a traditional Chinese multi-tiered pavilion building, rendered in fine intaglio line work against a lightly clouded sky, set within an ornate guilloche frame with large floral rosettes at the left and right corners. The English bank name THE KWANGTUNG PROVINCIAL BANK arches across the top within a decorative panel, while the denomination FIFTY CENTS and the year 1949 are displayed in bold lettering at the foot of the central vignette.
