The circular legend reads 'ROYAUME DU LAOS' in Latin script to the left and in Lao script to the right, separated at the top by a small ornamental star. The date '1952' appears in the lower exergue in Arabic numerals, flanked by the equivalent date in Lao script. The design is rendered in a clean, low-relief style characteristic of French colonial essai coinage. |
