Obverse description The national coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago is displayed prominently in the centre of the field, featuring a heraldic shield with two sailing ships, supported on the dexter side by a Scarlet Ibis and on the sinister side by a Hummingbird, both rendered in fine detail. Above the shield, a crest consisting of a helm surmounted by a coconut palm tree with flanking tropical foliage is depicted. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in the legend TOGETHER WE ASPIRE TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1984 appears at the bottom of the field, accompanied by the Franklin Mint mintmark.
