The portrait is rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and jewelled diadem characteristic of the Rank-Broadley effigy used on Australian coinage from 1999. |

| Описание реверса | The Commonwealth of Australia Coat of Arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing the badges of the six Australian states, supported to the left by a kangaroo and to the right by an emu, both rendered in fine relief against a background of stylised wattle foliage. Above the shield, the seven-pointed Commonwealth Star surmounts a wreath, while below the supporters the denomination numeral 50 appears in large bold figures spanning the lower field. The composition is vigorous and heraldically faithful, based on the design by Stuart Devlin first introduced on the Australian fifty-cent coin in 1969. |
