Reverse description A stylised and simplified rendering of the Royal Arms of Canada, as proclaimed by King George V on November 21, 1921, engraved by George Kruger Gray whose initials 'KG' appear in the field. The shield displays the quarterly arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and France in the upper portions, with the Arms of Canada in the base, surmounted by a crowned lion passant and flanked by the lion of England and the unicorn of Scotland as supporters. The circular legend 50 CENTS CANADA flanks the date at the base, with the year of issue appearing below the arms. A toothed denticle border frames the entire design.
