Reverse description Central design features a stylised coconut palm tree in full frond, flanked on either side by the denomination numerals '50' with the word 'CENTS' inscribed beneath. The date '1943' appears in the lower exergue, flanked by pellets. A circular legend reading 'CEYLON' arches across the upper field. Flanking the central motif on the left and right are inscriptions in Tamil and Sinhala scripts respectively, conveying the denomination 'Fifty Cents'. The border is defined by a neat dentilled rim consistent with the obverse.
