Reverse description A Sherman tank, crewed by three helmeted soldiers visible in the open turret and hull positions, advances through the rubble-strewn streets of a devastated Sicilian town, its long barrel extending toward the upper left. The surrounding field features the ruins of masonry buildings — collapsed brick walls, arched doorways, and shattered window frames — evoking the intensity of the 1943 Allied campaign. The denomination 50 CENTS appears in the upper legend, while the dual dates 1945 and 2005 flank the word CANADA along the lower periphery. A small PM privy mark appears at lower right, and the numeral 18 is visible on the tank turret. The composition, engraved by Stan Witten, is rendered in high relief with fine mechanical detail throughout.
