Reverse description A full-bodied Tonkinese cat is depicted in profile, standing alert with its tail raised gracefully upward, occupying the central field of the reverse. The design, engraved by Susan Taylor, captures the breed's lithe, muscular form with fine sculptural detail in the fur and facial features. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper rim, while the bilingual breed name TONKINESE and TONKINOIS appears along the lower left and lower right respectively. The denomination 50 CENTS and the date 1999 are inscribed in the lower exergual area, with the engraver's initials JAC visible in the lower left field.
