| Obverse description | The obverse features a world map rendered in relief against a gridded cartographic field, with continental outlines prominently displayed across the central area of the coin. A large open cutout at the upper portion of the field frames the architectural spire of the Grand Palace visible through to the reverse, integrating both faces into a unified design. A small right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, after Ian Rank-Broadley, is positioned in the lower right field. The curved legend along the upper rim reads '2022 · COOK ISLANDS · 50 CENTS', while the name 'ELIZABETH II' is inscribed along the lower arc. The entire surface is finished in antiqued style, lending depth and contrast to the engraved details. |
