背面描述 A stylized reproduction of the Canadian Coat of Arms as it appeared on the original 1943 circulation 50-cent coin (KM#36), rendered in high relief with a mirrored proof field. The arms display the quartered shield surmounted by a crown, flanked by the lion and unicorn supporters, with the date dual inscription below referencing both the original issue year and the commemorative year. 附加信息

This piece belongs to a Royal Canadian Mint commemorative program revisiting historic Canadian coinage designs, in this case the George VI half-dollar first issued in 1937. The original 1937 circulation coinage marked Canada's first use of a distinctly Canadian reverse design program, replacing the imperial imagery that had persisted through the George V series. The 1943 date specifically references wartime production, when nickel was redirected to the war effort and the standard 80% silver alloy remained in use for the half-dollar while lower denominations were reformulated.

At 62.29 grams of .9999 fine silver, this is considerably heavier than the 11.66-gram circulation originals.
