Reverse description A wreath of selectively gold-plated Canadian maple leaves, tied at the base with a ribbon bow, frames the central field. Surmounting the wreath at the top is a gold-plated Imperial crown. The denomination 50 CENTS and country name CANADA are inscribed in the central field, with the centennial date span 1917-2017 appearing below, separated by a short rule. The reverse faithfully reproduces the classic wreath design of the original 1917 Canadian fifty-cent piece, with the selective gold plating on the botanical elements contrasting elegantly against the frosted and mirrored proof silver surfaces.
