50 Cents - Elizabeth II Daspletosaurus

Part of the RCM's long-running dinosaur series aimed at the collectors' market, this issue features Daspletosaurus torosus, a tyrannosaur recovered almost exclusively from the Oldman Formation of Alberta — making it a deliberate nod to Canadian paleontological heritage rather than the more internationally recognizable T. rex. The choice was scientifically pointed: Daspletosaurus is now understood to be among the closest known relatives of T. rex, and specimens from the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller informed the reconstruction used in the design process.
