Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as sculpted by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, wearing a jewelled diadem and pearl necklace. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper field, while ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the lower periphery. The denomination 50 CENTS appears in two lines to the left of the portrait. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, characteristic of the Royal Canadian Mint's collector issue standards.
