| Additional information |
The Brown Bear coin is part of the Perth Mint's long-running Australian Animals series, which has been one of the mint's most commercially successful bullion-adjacent programs since the 1990s. Perth's output during this period leaned heavily on wildlife subjects to differentiate Australian silver from the dominant American and Canadian issues dominating the collector market.
KM#215 is a relatively low-mintage collector piece rather than a true circulation strike — Australian 50-cent coins have not seen meaningful general circulation since the switch to smaller base-metal coinage decades prior.
