Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper field, while the lower field bears the inscriptions 1/2 oz, 999 SILVER, 2014, TUVALU, and 50 CENTS arranged around the portrait. The engraver's initials IRB appear beneath the truncation of the bust. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field.
Schrift voorzijde Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a vivid colored depiction of an adult Asian elephant and its calf in close proximity, their trunks touching affectionately in the foreground. The highly detailed colorization renders the animals in naturalistic tones of brown, ochre, and grey, with the calf's blue eye and the adult's green eye rendered as focal points. Large tropical leaves, rendered in uncolored relief, frame the upper portion of the composition against a mirror-polished field. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears to the left of the design, and the inscription ASIAN ELEPHANT is incused along the lower rim. The reverse was designed by Ing Ing Jong.
