| 背面描述 | The reverse features a dramatic, action-filled composition inspired by A.B. 'Banjo' Paterson's celebrated 1890 poem, depicting multiple stockmen on horseback cracking whips and mustering wild brumbies across a rugged mountain landscape. In the upper right of the field, the denomination numeral 50 is boldly rendered, while the title inscription THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER dominates the central field in large stylised lettering. Background elements include rocky terrain, trees, and swirling dust, evoking the spirit of the Australian high country. The designer's initials WB appear discretely in the lower right portion of the field. |

Banjo Paterson's 1890 poem first appeared anonymously in The Bulletin, with Paterson's identity as the author not publicly confirmed for years. The Man from Snowy River has since become one of the most recognisable pieces of Australian verse, and the Royal Australian Mint has returned to it repeatedly as commemorative subject matter — this 2020 fifty-cent piece being among the later iterations in that tradition.
The aluminium bronze alloy used here is the same composition the RAM has employed for circulating fifty-cent pieces since the dodecagonal format was introduced in 1969, though commemorative strikes of this type rarely see a cashier's drawer.
