The "Dreaming Down Under" series used pad printing — a process borrowed from industrial parts manufacturing — to apply polychrome color directly onto the coin surface with a silicone transfer pad. It's an unusual technique for numismatic use, more common in printing on curved or irregular objects than on collector coins, and it produces color saturation that conventional enamel inlay cannot easily match.
