| Beschrijving voorzijde | Sixth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, rendered by sculptor Jody Clark, depicting the monarch diademed with the George IV State Diadem and wearing the Victorian Coronation Necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2021 50 CENTS encircles the portrait, with the engraver's initials JC appearing beneath the truncation of the neck. The design is struck on a dodecagonal flan with a smooth field surrounding the central effigy. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Consolidated PBY Catalina flew with the RAAF from 1941 through the early 1950s, doing the bulk of its work over the Pacific and Indian Oceans in maritime patrol, air-sea rescue, and anti-submarine roles. No. 11 and No. 20 Squadrons operated them extensively out of northern Australia and island bases. The pad-printing process used on this 2021 circulating commemorative — applying color directly to the coin face — was adopted by the Royal Australian Mint as a cost-effective alternative to enamel inlay for high-volume color releases.
