Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, rendered in Ian Rank-Broadley's fifth definitive portrait, set against a deeply mirrored proof field. The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, a pearl drop earring, and a pearl necklace, with fine detail evident throughout the hair and crown. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery and AUSTRALIA along the upper right, with the date 2000 positioned at the lower right. The designer's initials IRB appear incuse on the truncation of the effigy. The high-relief frosted devices contrast sharply with the polished field, exemplifying the quality of modern Australian proof coinage.
