| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a stylised linear depiction of a racing cyclist leaning forward over a bicycle, rendered in bold relief against a polished field with sweeping elliptical speed lines evoking motion and athleticism. To the upper right of the central motif appears the official Melbourne 2006 XVIII Commonwealth Games logo, incorporating a dynamic running figure above the inscription MELBOURNE 2006. The denomination numeral 50 is positioned to the left of the central design within the elliptical framework. The legend XVIII COMMONWEALTH GAMES arcs along the lower periphery in capital letters, completing the commemorative inscription. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The 2006 Commonwealth Games were held in Melbourne — the first time Australia had hosted since Brisbane in 1982 — and the Royal Australian Mint issued a series of fifty-cent pieces covering individual sports to mark the occasion. Cycling was among the disciplines represented. These circulated alongside regular fifty-cent pieces and were legal tender, though most were pulled from circulation or saved on issue.
