| Reverse description | The reverse presents a vibrant pad-printed colour depiction of two Splendid Fairy-Wrens (Malurus splendens) perched on native Australian branches against a deep mirror-proof black field. The larger male bird, rendered in striking cobalt and royal blue plumage with a distinctive pale blue cheek patch and upright tail, occupies the left foreground, while a smaller brown female is shown perched to the right on a separate branch. The naturalistic engraved branch and foliage design frames the composition, with the Perth Mint's P mintmark visible to the left of the central scene and the designer's initials NM in the lower left.
