Beschrijving keerzijde A finely detailed depiction of a red kangaroo in full leap, bounding to the left, rendered in high relief against a radiating sunburst field pattern. The legend AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO arcs along the upper periphery, while the date, denomination 1/2 oz, and fineness 9999 SILVER are inscribed along the lower periphery. The Perth Mint privy mark P appears to the left of the date. The overall composition conveys dynamic movement and naturalistic detail characteristic of the Australian Kangaroo bullion series.

Aanvullende informatie

The Perth Mint launched this half-ounce silver bullion series as part of a broader push to compete directly with the Royal Canadian Mint's Maple Leaf and the U.S. Mint's American Silver Eagle in the international bullion market. Australia had long dominated gold bullion sales through the Nugget and Kangaroo series; silver was the catch-up play. The fourth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Ian Rank-Broadley, was already aging out of circulation coinage by this window — the fifth portrait by Jody Clark had been adopted on Australian coins from 2019 — making these among the last Australian bullion issues to carry the Rank-Broadley effigy.
