Additional information

The 1977 XC Falcon Hardtop occupies a specific and contested place in Australian automotive history — Ford Australia produced it for just one model year, and the hardtop body style was discontinued almost immediately after. The "High Octane" series from the Royal Australian Mint pairs these culturally loaded vehicles with a pad-printing process that applies colour directly to the coin's surface, a technique the Mint has leaned on heavily since the 2010s for its collectibles program.

The XC generation was also the last Falcon to offer a genuine factory-built hardtop in Australia.
