| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the armorial bearings of Western Australia, comprising a shield bearing a black swan above wavy lines of water, supported by two kangaroos rampant, and surmounted by a royal crown. The dates 1901 and 2001 flank the central arms in the field to left and right respectively, commemorating the centenary span of Australian Federation. The curved legend CENTENARY OF FEDERATION arcs along the upper periphery, with WESTERN AUSTRALIA inscribed in a straight line beneath the shield and FIFTY CENTS along the lower edge. The composition is bold and heraldically precise, rendered in crisp relief against the flat field of the dodecagonal flan. |

Issued as part of the six-coin Federation centenary series marking 100 years since Australian federation on 1 January 1901, each piece in the set represented one of the six states. Western Australia's inclusion carries a quiet irony: the colony nearly missed federation entirely, holding its referendum in July 1900 only after intense pressure — and a threatened separate vote by the goldfields population, who were prepared to petition the British Crown to join the Commonwealth without Perth's approval.
