Obverse description Fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The truncated bust is rendered in fine relief with subtle drapery at the shoulder. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2001 arcs around the upper periphery, with the engraver's initials IRB appearing below the portrait truncation. The design follows the standard Commonwealth portrait introduced in 1998.
