Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile with an ornate girdle crown. The Queen's hair is elaborately styled, with the engraver's initials 'IRB' incuse below the truncation of the neck. The peripheral legend reads 'ELIZABETH II' to the upper left and 'AUSTRALIA 2001' to the right, all in raised Latin characters against a flat field.
