Obverse description The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley faces right, depicted with a jewelled coronet and a pearl drop earring, her hair elegantly coiffed. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, with AUSTRALIA and the date 2013 continuing along the right, all in raised Latin capitals. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small characters beneath the truncation of the bust. The mirrored proof fields provide strong contrast against the finely detailed relief of the portrait, characteristic of the Royal Australian Mint's highest striking standard.
