Reverse description The full Canadian Royal Coat of Arms occupies the central field, featuring the quartered shield with the arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and France surmounted by the Royal Crown, supported by a crowned lion rampant to the left and a unicorn to the right, each standing on a grassy compartment bearing the motto scroll. The motto DESIDEANTES MELIOREM PATRIAM appears on a ribbon below the supporters, while A MARI USQUE AD MARE, Canada's national motto, arcs along the lower periphery. The date 2004 and the inscriptions CANADA and 50 CENTS are positioned in the upper field flanking the crest, all rendered in sharp proof relief against a highly polished background.
